About Melvel Training

Melvel Training was set up in 2009 by Mel Vella, with a focus on raising awareness about substances and providing access to bespoke drug awareness training for all sectors.

Melvel Training’s Key Successes to Date:

• Devising and implementing tailor made drug awareness and brief advice courses to the Police, Housing Association and Outreach workers across Nottingham, work commissioned by the Crime and Drug Partnership
• Developing e-learning courses for managers and employees about Drug Awareness in the Workplace

Mel’s Best Bits:

• A qualified teacher with 7 years experience in the UK and 2 years in Malta
• Created and facilitated training courses to teachers, and to serving and retired Police Officers within the UK, Falkland Islands, and the Royal Military Police, so they could deliver drug education in schools
• Trained by Nottinghamshire County Council to be an Inspector for School Improvement Services, quality assuring schools’ drug policies and advising on drug policy writing
• Rewrote a drug education resource, bringing it national credibility and establishing it within service schools, based abroad
• Trained in basic counselling skills and to run consultation and focus groups
• Female Ambassador for Women in Business, in the East Midlands
• Associate member of the CIPD, awarded the CIPD Branch Prize in 2002.
